Sunday Lollygag: Doing The Things That Make Me Happy

Sunday Lollygag: Doing The Things That Make Me Happy
My new Sunday routine is for church service, brunch, and a whole lot of lollygagging with family and friends. But today, I am doing something all by myself.

Over the years, I've been trying to carve out time for the things I want to do, but it always end up doing housework or just fiddling with my thumbs. In other words, sometimes I do not always use my free time wisely or I wait too long to do something, and the whole day passes me by

Some of the things I like or love may seem mundane, but it's ok because it's about living a non-filtered life that makes me happiest.

When I am feeling my best happy self, I can then and only then release a better version of myself into the world for others to enjoy. All work and no play is for the day I take my last breath.

Therefore as long as I am alive, I want to enjoy as many sunrises as possible. This is the journey I am willing to risk it all for.

Getting out and having fun is a healthy part of life, and FUN should be evaluated as equivalent to making money on a 9-5 job. I'm just saying:)

So, I am sightseeing around my local thrift store today, which is my favorite thing to do. I love buying old clothes, jewelry, and furniture. There is something nostalgic about finding old things, such as furniture, to decorate a small space in your home. Or seeing an old necklace to pair with an old scrappy dress. I can spend hours shuffling through the old things that are secondhand but new to me.

I am still determining where I am going with this blog, but I love documenting my life journey of living and not merely existing. No matter how long I stay in the thrift store, when I leave, I know I have used my time wisely and the way I wanted. It's the feeling of fulfillment that my day of lollygagging was well spent.

In conclusion:  I used to think lollygagging was for lazy people until I realized we all need a day of doing only what we want. The moral of the story is let's lollygag a bit while we are feeling and looking young enough to do so.

Yes, there is always time to start something, but no one ever talks about time will run out one day. Maybe not today, but the clock will slow down and eventually stop one day.

What have you done for yourself today?

Until Next Time: Hope Your Living And Not Just Existing!
