Gentle Reminder: Happiness Changes As We Age!

Happiness Changes When We Age

As I’m getting older, I’m realizing my happiness matters more now than it ever did in my twenties. The things that used to worry or break me back then, I’ve developed a resistance to, understanding that they were all a part of the life I created and learned from. That is why your story matters more than a copied one. I never want to miss the tracks that God has for my life. Have you ever thought about your purpose and what makes you unique?

Now that I am in my almost mid-fifties, I’m in a different kind of creative space, one where I’m learning to define what happiness means to me. It’s no longer about what’s expected or approved; it’s about peace, laughter, and the freedom to live life at my own pace. #thinkaboutit

Somewhere along the way, I stopped measuring happiness by outside noise and started listening my  own spirit filled voice. Aging has a way of doing that and I swear my momma used to say it when I was a child.

Somehow getting older It teaches you that not everything deserves your energy and not every closed door was meant to open. Sometimes the lessons we fought the hardest become the very wisdom we carry forward.

When I think about my past life versus my future life, I don't want anything that isn't for me. And at this stage in my life, I realize I do not want to miss any steps that will take me from the end goal of living a fulfilled and happy life.

Because truthfully, happiness looks different now when I look in the mirror. It feels more intentional and lived in instead of simply performing life for others.

Especially in this social media world, that place will have you watching someone else's life and trying to duplicate it, only to get views and a few cents on the dollar.

The other day, I was listening to a podcast, and they asked, When you look in the mirror, what is your story and how do you want to show up in it? #powerful

Now that right there…was a word for me.

Now that I am fifty-something, it’s vital to make happiness a priority. And remember, it’s not a one-size-fits-all fix. What fills me with joy might not be your jam, and that’s okay. This is just your reminder to find your own escape door to personal happiness. #realtalk

POV: Maybe happiness isn't about chasing a perfect life at all. Maybe it’s about finally giving ourselves permission to live our own lives.

P.S. Something Is Coming. Oh, and thank ya'll for helping with the women's group and donating. More to come :)

I wish I could share pictures of the giving and donations, but as a woman who has overcome homelessness, I will never share or embarrass another woman who is in need. That’s why I didn’t show the women's group.

To me, giving is personal. It should never be used to shame, expose, or make someone feel less than, no matter how much money, clothing, or support is given.

So thank ya'll for continuing to be a blessing and helping me pour into others with dignity and love.

Until next time: Age Happy, My Friend. And Live Life Beyond Existing
