About Last Night Before It Got Cold!

About Last Night Before It Got Cold! I will never complain another day when summer rolls back around.

This little cold breeze in Texas is wreaking havoc on the goings and doings because when it's cold outside, I prefer to stay inside where it's warm.

And I am trying to stay ahead and keep my date nights with Rico(the hubs) up and going.

At the end of 2023, we finally sat down and penciled in every date we would take: rain, sunshine, or sleet. :(

And when I say my husband does not play when it comes to his time with me, he doesn't care if it's raining. He grabs an umbrella. :)

The date night must go forth; trust me, I have tried to get out of a few. But over time, it has become more accessible and easier to make our plans and follow through. We both have worked so hard over the years; now it's time to play.

Here's the thing: our date nights are not significant and over the top; we keep it simple for one reason. And that reason is our planned date night is about us and us only.

We don't talk about the children, bills, friends or family. It's our time to connect the dots by talking about us, our dreams, and our plans.

Ahh yeah, I bet you didn't know some plans need to be made with your spouse that don't include kids, family, and friends.

It's called adulting and planning your future for when you become empty nesters. Oh, and it will happen sooner or later, but even if you never become an empty nester, you still need a romantic plan for your life.

So, this week, the babes took me to Dallas, where we walked and viewed the city a bit. I had a mountain of crab, crawfish, sausage, shrimp, corn, and potatoes for dinner.

The food was spicy and good, but the laughs and cracking crab legs were the best part of our night.

Since we parked two blocks away from the restaurant, we decided to walk around the corner to grab a hott latter and fresh hot beignets. It was the perfect cap off right before it got really cold. After doing the last bit of sightseeing, we headed home and called it a night; it was that simple.

At this point in my life, I am only making time for the things that matter the most. Life is not as hard as I've made it over the years; go and do where you are loved. That is why date night and a couple of things are so important.

How are you doing your date nights this cold season?

Here's to living beyond existing!
