TIME UNWASTED!
Time wasted is time that's gone. Yep, it's that simple time wasted is time that has left the building faster than Elvis closing out his last Las Vegas show. I love Elvis, so please don't come for me:)
I do not know why I just used that analogy, but now I want to watch the Elvis movie for the 100th time. In which I genuinely give 10 whole stars for being superb. Yes, that movie was and is everything; Tom Hanks and Austin Butler deserve every award imaginable. The acting was on point, and the real-life of Elvis Presley was worth telling the world.
Ok, enough about Elvis because I just set my timer to watch it again tonight for the 101st time.:)
This time, I am going to continue with my babbling: I was thinking about how much time I've wasted over the years. You know, when I am not at work, and on my two days off, I spend that time complaining about going back to work or simply cleaning the house.
Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a little complaining or even cleaning up. But, doing it grungily is a waste of time and time I can't get back.
This may seem small, but in reality, it's not to me. I was thinking, what is life when I am not working? What am I supposed to do besides leave work and go home and work? There has to be something in between work, life and balancing it all without feeling burnt out.
So, I have come up with a simple way I can enjoy my little time off. On my days off from work, I must not mention it at all, and I mean at all.
A day off work is a day off, and I should be winding down and relaxing even if I don't want to do it. So, I purposely turn my work phone off, and I do not answer any messages. #imoff
When it comes to housework work, I do that on my first day off early in the morning. I used to spend all day doing housework every single week, and by the time it was time to go back to work, I was exhausted.
Now, I do not try to do everything in one day. A closet can not be done on the same day as a general house cleaning day. If I dust and do laundry, cook dinner and mop the floor, I am not deep cleaning the oven before bed. And I mean that. :)
Can you see how I was wasting all my time on things that needed to be done in small increments?
Once, I started doing these two small things in my life, I now have more time to do mundane things. Yes, I said mundane things, and I am unapologetic about it.
I do not care what anyone says; lollygagging is a form of unwasted time. If I want to do nothing except hang out with my family or do a simple ice cream date with my man, then that is what I'll do. I can spend hours doing nothing. Here's Why!
Honestly, I just learned doing nothing is doing something. So if someone calls me and says what are you doing. And my reply is nothing; please do not try to find me something to do. #girlbye
Trust me, I can clean my fridge if I want to do something, but I ain't. I'm off work and off from doing things I don't want.
And might I add, it's quite freeing to stand in my own truth and honesty. Therefore, if you see me strolling through your city, eating ice cream, and posing for Instagram pictures. Don't ask me what I am doing; just let me bask in my time being unwasted. Please believe I am doing what I want to do, and my time is being used up enjoying what I really want to do. Which is nothing:)
Lastly, at this point in my life, I am only wasting time on the things that bring me peace, love, and joy. No more overworking; it's time to enjoy some of the time I have on earth. You may not want to read my blog because this diary is all about living live and twirling to the beat of my own drum and I hope you join me. Girl, just live life and live it out loud and on purpose. In reality, nobody really cares, so show up and show out for yourself. And that's on grits and sweet butter cornbread. :)
Now, here's to living life beyond existing!
Until Next Time, See Ya In A Bit
