Making Life Fun Again & Filling My Soul!

Making Life Fun Again & Filling My Soul!

Getting older doesn’t mean we have to lose our spunk for life or dress like we’re blending into the background. Not to mention, Time is moving fast, and the hours, minutes, and seconds don’t wait for anyone. So why not start, eating what you want, going where you want, and most of all, Wear What The FUNK You Want ? If you know, you know:)

Just yesterday, I made a list of things I want to do in my 50s. Some are small, some are big dreams, but every single one of them is about making life fun again. When I’m at work, I’m there to serve my clients, but outside of work, life is about finding my own joy. #thinkaboutit

Four years ago, I started ripping up jeans and re-creating handbags and accessories as a hobby. I turned my childhood hobby into a slow fashion online business. I am in the process of adding new items and fun things to the website. I can not wait to share because it’s fun, and it’s something I’m doing purely for myself. Think of it as my childhood hobby turned into a fun little business.

Last weekend I went outside and touched some grass, played cards, and I read two magazines that opened my eyes to seeing life in a new light. More on that soon.

Now that my children are all grown with good jobs, except my 13-year-old who hangs with the oldest children. I am now in a space where I can go out and do more grown woman stuff by myself and with my husband.

I want to see the world, even if it’s just doing things in my own city. Whether it’s a solo trip to a hidden beach or a spontaneous road trip to some quirky town I’ve never heard of, I’m ready for it all.

It doesn’t have to be big or extravagant. Sometimes the adventure is as simple as heading to a new restaurant or trying a sport that’s way outside my comfort zone. The goal is to start living beyond existing.

So, here’s the plan: To live this part of my life without reservation, to do all the things that make me feel alive, whether that’s wearing a bold outfit, starting a new hobby, or seeing the world one beach and mountain at a time. My life, my rules.

It’s something I think many of us women are missing. We’re so used to being on the clock, being moms, wives, girlfriends, always “on” for someone else. We forget that it’s okay to live for ourselves, too. I’ve worn that “service to others” badge for years, and I’m ready to set it down because life is what I make it.

The thing I love about living in my own style, and life itself, is that it’s about fun, no matter what age you are. I don’t care if it’s a men’s shirt layered over a skirt with dress pants, a stack of bracelets, and eight chains around my neck. It makes me happy, and that happiness spreads to everyone around me. That’s the beauty of life and style, they’re both about expressing what’s inside.

So, here’s my message to every woman out there, 50-something and beyond: Live your life with joy, go places that make you feel free, and wear whatever the FUNK you want. Take risks, find new hobbies, wander the world, and don’t apologize for any of it.

Let’s make life an adventure again. And that’s on every FUNKY thang!

Last But Not Least, here’s a challenge for you: What’s one thing you’ve been holding back onwhether it’s trying a new style, exploring a hobby, or planning that dream trip? This is your sign to go for it. Don’t let another day go by without doing something just for you.

Let’s make this year about being unapologetically ourselves. Go live, dress, and embrace life with all the funk you’ve got!
