My Friday Mood List: The Little Things Keeping Me Happy

Here's To New Starts And Creating A System To End the Year!

Ok, here we go again, another month has flown by faster than a jet heading to Paris. It’s been a busy past 30 days, but I must say I’m ready to glide right into November and December. Well, not really “fly,” because I’ve got so much to share with you guys. #comingsoon :)

But for now, I’m going to focus on my Friday Mood.

Within less than 60 days, we’ll be wrapping up 2025, and I have to admit, I’m so ready. I’m already gearing up for the new year. Because at this point, 2025 can kick rocks. :) #nopunintended

I’m also thankful to have made it through the earlier part of this season of change in my life. I’ll be celebrating a few milestones this year, and I can’t wait to share those moments, too.

Finding Joy in the Simple Stuff

Lately, what’s been bringing me joy is finding myself again and understanding that it’s okay to leave one age behind and step into another. Y’all, I’m finally over that weird phase of getting older. I don’t know if that uneasy birthday feeling will come back, but I’m thankful to have a loving, supportive family who carried the weight with understanding. My life is changing. But you can read more here on Aging Notes

Ok, now back to yapping, this week, I cleared my plate of anything negative online. Sunday service was all about clearing out our socials again, but it was geared toward us grown folk and what we watch, see, and do online.

I don’t think I spend too much time on apps since I work full-time, but our pastor was talking more about not letting social media consume too much of our daily lives.

Our kids, our spouses, and even the dog need us to be present.

That message was a real “ah-ha” moment for so many of us that day. So I went through my apps, removed a few folks, and added new people who inspire and motivate me. It’s a good life out here, and I want to make sure I’m always traveling down that road.

Also, Clearing the Clutter  Literally

I also went through my closet and cleared out a few old clothes. You know the ones that don’t fit anymore, the outfits that don’t hide a thing and have you looking like a squeezed sausage in a bun. I’d been hoarding pieces that just don’t fit anymore, and I’m done trying to starve myself or fake a diet to squeeze into them.

Ya girl is on a live life out loud kick now. It may sound funny, but honestly, it’s been the best stress reliever. I’ve decided to live in my moments of truth.

On a lighter note, I have a new drop coming soon on Funky Grunge Boutique

And guess what, my husband has a big surprise planned for me this weekend, and y’all, I’ve been so giddy! Acting like a child waiting for Christmas to come. But that’s the joy of life, being happy about the unknown. There’s something special about smiling over the small, everyday things.

Let’s Chat about Learning to Let Go

I’ve been taking baby steps by not taking on more than I can handle. It’s not easy, because I’m a take-charge, do-everything kind of gal. But honestly, I’m finding so much more peace in letting go and allowing my kids and husband to step in. #mommyoffduty

So, I’m kicking off my weekend with good intentions and a clear head. I know Mondays are miserable for most people (according to the news), but I’m already planning my next week early with real intention. I just may do a little thrift snooping. You can read some stuff over on Wear What The Funk You Want

And at some point this weekend, I will indulge myself in my favorite burger and fries in my city. So, excuse me as I put my family on a little friendly notice. LOl :)

Dear Family, Here Is My Weekly Menu Game Plan

I’ve already made my “What’s for Dinner” list, and my goal is to cook two-day meals, the kind of meals a family can eat twice. That’s how I’m easing some pressure off my plate. New goals, New Me.

Monday & Tuesday: Baked chicken thighs, yellow rice with gravy, string beans, rolls, and Kool-Aid. Dessert: crushed Oreos and ice cream.

Wednesday & Thursday: Pot roast (I’ll put it on before work), black-eyed peas, cornbread, cabbage, and sweet potatoes. Drinks of choice and a slice of homemade box cake.:) lol

Friday Today: Relaxed chili dogs and fried hash browns tonight.

Saturday & Sunday: Whatever they can find in the kitchen because my apron will be in the washer. And momma will be chilling with her man.  #imofftheclock

Next week, I’m also not getting up so early for my light exercises and walks. I’m slowing down and hitting that snooze button once or twice. It will not be for extra sleep, but just to break a habit. I’ve been putting unnecessary pressure on myself to get up at 5 a.m. every morning. This week, I’m doing life a little differently, and I’m so happy about it.

The end of this Yapping Is:

Life is too short not to enjoy the small moments of peace and joy. I’m learning to let go and live like tomorrow doesn’t exist, to slow down, smile more, and just be.

So here’s to more slow, carefree days ahead.

There you have it a quick Friday Mood and list with a Monday jumpstart because ya girl is flying out of 2025 with a game plan.

Until next time, see ya in a bit!
xo, Tangie
