Who said having fun at fifty-something was lame? Lame or not, I am down for trying new things and having fun. So, this year, I decided to try something new, something scary, and something so creepy I had to blog all about it.
For years, I have been talking about visiting a scary house, but no one in my family was down. And I mean, no one wanted to do it, so I never went.
Now, of all the years, my hubby (Rico) decides to buy tickets to a spooky haunted house in our neighborhood. That made him feel a bit safe since it was close to our living quarters in case he needed to run all the way home. I'm not saying he is scary, but he hates jump scares.
LOL:) Naw Ya, 'll He's Scared Of Chucky, Clowns, Upside Down Dolls, And Chainsaws.
Nonetheless, he booked our adventure for 10 p.m. at night. Now, did he really expect me to get out of bed, get dressed, and leave my house by 9:45 p.m.?
And I did:)
This year, I didn't dress up at all because I am now in my phase of enjoying life's experiences. So, no wasting money on costumes only to wear for a few hours.
But I did put on my polka-dot dress, tall boots, with black leather pants. Now, the Hubbs wore his favorite church outfit.:) He was looking rather dapper to run through a scary haunted house.
This was the funniest night I have ever had. The haunted house was so cute and scary at the same time. It was so much fun being two grown adults amongst people who appeared to be at least 20 years younger than both of us.
But we were screaming and acting a fool like two lost teenagers running through the woods of Tennessee.
Everything my Rico hated about scary houses was there: clowns, chainsaws, and the costumes were amazing.
The haunted house was more fun than we could have imagined; we talked about it all the way home. Woke up the following day telling our daughters about it. I am so happy I documented my first haunted house experience.
That night was so crazy because it's been years since I've left my house that late at night. I felt like a bad woman, and I will be doing that again. That night before coming back home, we decided to stop and eat Whataburger, fries, and tea in the car while watching a tube movie. That night was magical, or should I say morning, because we made it home at precisely 2:45 a.m.
In conclusion, Would I go back and do another haunted house? My answer is heck yeah because it was so much fun. I can't wait until next year, 2024.
At this point in my life, I am all about having fun and enjoying the mundane things in life. No thinking, just do it.
I hope you enjoyed today's post? Here's to enjoying life beyond living.
