Unproductive Friday: We Left The Kitchen Messy

Who says 7 days a week must be productive, you know, filled with work, goings, and doings? Sometimes, a gal just has to stop, drop, and roll in the fact that life has to slow down sometimes.

So, this past Friday was a day I did just that, and I mean, I did nothing except relax, laugh, eat burgers, and enjoy making memories with my family.

As I document my journey in life, I realize I have spent most of my life in an all-work and no-play mode. No, seriously, I just learned how to turn work life off and mommy life and wife life.

LOL (No Pun intended). I never knew how to turn off my busy bee control buttons and turn on my let goosey loose buttons.

Unproductive Friday Eating At Griffs Burgers

Over the last few months, I've been creating boundaries to live a life beyond existing. It sounds easy, but I am working so hard not to overwork myself as I am getting older.

This may sound cheesy, but most of my sad days spun from not fitting in time to being unproductive.

You know, taking that one day or minute not to do anything except sit down and laugh at my own mundane moments.

Since the holidays are over, I can now find something else to do besides shopping for gifts and planning a holiday dinner. And don't get me wrong I had so much fun, cooking and laughing with family.

All my daughters had time off from work and school to hang out and relax; it was a magical ending to 2023.

So, before going back to work, I decided to gather the family for a day of cracking jokes with one another and eating our favorite food, none other than burgers.

Fridays are usually the days I use to prep for next week, but not this time. I did not clean the house, fold laundry, or think about all the work I had to have completed by Monday morning. Yes, I left laundry in the basket, and I put the thawed chicken back in the fridge; lastly, I put my phone on airplane mode.

So, we jumped in the car and went to our favorite ole' school spot, where we enjoyed burgers with onions, pickles, jalapenos, mustard, ketchup, bacon, cheese, french fries, onion rings, and fountain sodas.

Then, we topped it off with a dessert cookie. That's it, that's all. The day was very unproductive but lots of fun just doing nothing. I guess I can say this was a very good, unproductive day in my life.

So, Cheers to messy kitchens, glorious burgers, and the freedom to embrace the chaos!

I hope this post about being productive and leaving the kitchen a mess to go have burgers and fries gave you a good laugh. Remember, it's okay to not always be perfect, and sometimes the best thing you can do is embrace the mess and enjoy the ride!

Because at this point, as I get older, I want to remember those days that made me laugh out loud. Here's to living beyond existing.

If you have made it this far, how are you enjoying an unproductive day?
